Slate setup
Classic FanDuel: QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, FLEX (RB/WR/TE), DST. Balanced maximizes projected points, nudged by real Vegas game totals, real defense-vs-position matchups, real season form, and salary (the most points that fit under the cap). Doubtful and Out players are excluded from builds entirely; Questionable carries a small risk discount for that player and a boost for his same-position backups. Cash leans toward each player's real statistical floor for a safer, more repeatable score. GPP leans toward ceiling and adds a bonus for stacking your QB with his own pass-catchers, so one big offensive game lifts multiple players at once — the classic tournament move for a shot at a high score. Single game (MVP) slates have one game, 5 total roster spots β 1 MVP who scores 1.5x points (at normal salary) plus 4 FLEX who can be any position, including kickers and D. Only FanDuel single-game rules are modeled right now.
Player pool
0 playersThis week's pool, salaries, and projections are curated by The Spread β load the current slate and run the optimizer on it. Uploading or hand-editing the pool is limited to the site owner.
Click π to force a player into every lineup the optimizer builds, or π« to ban them entirely. Locked and excluded players are highlighted below.
| Pos | Player | Team | Opp | Inj | Salary | Proj | Spread | Total | Matchup | Usage | Adj. Pts | Lock |
|---|
Best value board
Ranks every player in your pool by projected points per $1,000 of salary, adjusted for that player's Vegas game environment (implied team total) and for injury-driven opportunity β a cheap player whose same-position teammate is out or questionable gets a value bump for the extra work he stands to see. Grouped by position by default; pick one position to see just that group. This is a research view β use it to scout cheap plays and smart pivots before you build a lineup.
No lineups built yet. Head to the Player Pool tab, load or add players, and hit "Optimize Lineup."

Waiver Wire & Trends
This is for your regular season-long fantasy league — not the FanDuel DFS lineup builder. Trending Adds/Drops are real, live add and drop counts from Sleeper's platform, not a rostered-percentage scrape. Breakout Radar is computed on this page from real season stats, not pulled from anywhere. Injuries are still covered on the Injury Report tab, so a player being hurt does not by itself put him here.
π₯ Real Add Candidates
Real add counts from Sleeper's public trending feed over the last 48 hours across their whole platform β not a scrape, not last week's snapshot. Paired with real season points and the matchup they're stepping into.
❄️ Trending Drops
The same live feed, the other direction β players being cut across real Sleeper leagues right now.
Breakout Radar
Not a scrape at all β computed straight from this week's real stats: players beating their own projection by a real margin over the games they've played, while their rest-of-season outlook has not caught up yet. This refreshes itself whenever the season data does, no separate pull needed.
Needs at least one game played and a projection to compare against, so it is empty in Week 1.
Want to write up your own waiver-wire column with this?
Who Do I Start?
Compare two players head to head using real data for whichever week you pick: real season PPG, a real matchup-specific weekly point projection (RotoWire via Sleeper), the game's real Vegas point total and spread, real weather at kickoff (or dome, if it's controlled climate), the real rank of the defense they're facing at their position (nflverse), recent-form trend, and where you have each of them ranked that week β then a clear Start/Sit call built from all of it.
Ranking numbers come from whichever week you pick above (your own tiers from the Rankings tab). Everything else β projection, total/spread, weather, and matchup rank β is pulled fresh for the exact week you pick, from the real schedule and lines, independent of whatever slate happens to be loaded on Player Pool.
Season-Long Rankings
These are The Spread's published rankings for the week β uploading or reordering them is limited to the site owner.
Your rankings, your tiers β nothing computed or auto-generated mixed in. Upload a CSV to start a week, then drag players between tiers (or reorder within one) to match exactly how you see it. Each player shows their real opponent this week and that defense's real rank against their position (color-coded green/yellow/red) wherever they're in a slate you've loaded, so you can factor matchups in as you rank. Rankings are saved per week β switch weeks with the selector above and each one keeps its own tiers. Use the position filter below for a clean position-only view across every team in your rankings β it hides everyone else rather than just dimming them, and dragging still works safely without losing anyone who's filtered out.
Props Edge
Deep player-trend analytics for prop research β the same kind of factor-based approach that tools like props.cash or PropFinder use, built from real data instead of guesswork.
Straight talk: no tool, including this one, has a live feed into FanDuel Sportsbook's actual odds β sportsbooks don't publish an open API for that, and this page can't connect to one. So every number below is a real advanced-stat signal built from this slate's actual data β not a copy of today's live prop numbers.
The Score now combines four real factors: Trend (last 5 games vs. last 10, from real box-score averages), Matchup (the opponent's rank defending that position over their last 5 games, 1 = toughest, 32 = easiest), Environment (the game's Vegas-implied team total from the real spread and over/under), and Usage (real 2026 snap%, target share, or rush share for players where that data exists β high-volume roles add a point since more opportunity means a steadier floor). A score of +2 or better is a "Strong Over" lean, -2 or worse a "Strong Under." Pull up the real line in the FanDuel app, compare it to the signal here, and log your own read below.
Usage data isn't available for every player in the pool β it's a real, named leaderboard for the season's highest-volume players (RosterAudit snap%/target share, sticktothemodel.com RB rush share), not something extrapolated for everyone. Players without a match just don't get that factor.
Real Usage Stats
Actual 2026-season target share (WR/TE) and run share (RB) for notable players β the kind of role/opportunity data that drives prop volume, matched against whoever's currently in your pool.
My Prop Log
Type in the real line you see on FanDuel right now, next to this slate's trend signal for that player, and note your own lean. This is your own private tracker β nothing here is a real-time odds pull.
Game Environment
Every game in your loaded slate, ranked by real Vegas-implied total β the shootout games at the top are where "over" player prop leans get the most support; the games at the bottom favor unders and defense/kicker props.
Defense vs. Position β Who to Target
Every team's real rank defending each position over their last 5 games (1 = shuts it down, 32 = gives it up easily), pulled straight from your loaded slate's advanced stats. A team ranked 25+ against a position is where you target that position's props on their opponent.
The small number under each rank is a real stat, not a guess: it's the actual scoring average (last 5 games, or projection where that's not available) of the real players in your pool who are facing that defense this week at that position. I looked for a full league-wide "season points allowed by position" stat to show here too, but every source I could verify was either an old season or had no current data loaded β rather than show you a number I couldn't confirm was real and current, I built this one from data already in the app instead.
Touchdown Matchups
Research your own anytime-TD leans, organized by game so you can work through one matchup at a time. Built from real underlying factors: the game's Vegas-implied total (more scoring plays for that team), the opponent's real rank defending that position, real usage share where we have it, and any real teammate-injury bump in expected role. We don't have actual red-zone touch counts or real TD totals, so this is a composite research signal β not an odds feed or a guaranteed prediction. Cross-check it against whatever anytime-TD price you see in the app.

League News
The latest injury outlook and roster moves, each with its source and date. This is a dated snapshot, not a live feed, since a static page cannot maintain one. Transaction wires checked (ESPN, CBS Sports) showed mostly practice-squad moves since Sept 19; nothing here is attributed to an insider unless the report actually came from one.

About The Spread
The Spread is a DFS lineup builder and fantasy football research tool built around one rule: every number on the page says where it came from. Real season stats, real Vegas lines, real weather, and real advanced metrics sit next to the parts you fill in yourself — rankings, salary uploads, your own scouting notes — and the two are never presented as the same thing.
What it's for
Two audiences share this tool. DFS players get a salary-cap lineup optimizer with three build modes (Balanced, Cash, GPP), a Best Value board, and a Floor/Ceiling board for tournament risk-taking. Season-long fantasy players get real weekly projections, a Tier Board with per-position rankings, a Start/Sit Scorer, a live Waiver Wire, and Defense-vs-Position matchup data.
Where the data comes from
Every figure on this site is labeled as real, estimated, or unavailable — never guessed and presented as fact. See the Help tab's "Data sources" section for the full list.
What this isn't
This is not a licensed sportsbook, and nothing here is investment or wagering advice. DFS and sports betting carry real financial risk; only play what you can afford to lose. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, contact the National Council on Problem Gambling at 1-800-522-4700.
Who's behind this
The Spread is built and run by one person — not a company, not a team. I built this because I wanted the tool myself, and I'm doing my best to make your football season a little more enjoyable and a little less guesswork. I keep every number as accurate and clearly labeled as I can, but mistakes happen when it's one person doing the data, the code, and everything else. If something looks wrong or you just want to say hey, email me directly at thespreadfantasy@gmail.com — I read every message myself.
Help & Guide

DFS tab
- Player Pool — build your slate by pasting a CSV, uploading a FanDuel export, or loading the current week's ready-made slate. When a real FanDuel export has been loaded in for the week, its salaries are official; otherwise salaries are estimated from projections and labeled as such.
- Build for — Balanced weighs pure projection; Cash leans toward each player's statistical floor for a repeatable score; GPP leans toward ceiling and adds a stacking bonus for a QB paired with his own pass-catchers.
- Best Value — every rostered player ranked by points per $1,000 of salary.
- Floor / Ceiling — a statistical floor and ceiling per player, blending position-typical variance with that player's own game log, plus a Safe / Balanced / Boom-Bust tag.
- My Lineup — two independently-built lineups plus how often each player showed up across simulated builds.
Fantasy tab
- Projections — weekly point projections in PPR, 0.5 PPR, or standard, with actuals shown once a week is played.
- Tier Board — drag players into S–D tiers. Pick Overall or a single position (QB/RB/WR/TE) — each is a separate, independently-saved board. "Send to Rankings" copies your tiers onto the Rankings tab.
- Start/Sit Scorer — compares two to four players on projection, matchup, recent form vs. projection, and usage.
- Waiver Wire — live add/drop counts from Sleeper's public trending feed, plus a Breakout Radar computed from this site's own stored stats.
- Rankings — your own tiered rankings, saved per week.
- Defense vs Position — how many points, yards, or touchdowns each defense allows per game to each offensive position. Green is a soft matchup, red is a tough one.
- Scoreboard — how accurate the projections have actually been, week over week.
Betting tab
Props Edge, Team Trends, and TD Matchups are research signals built from real box-score data and real Vegas lines — not a live odds feed. No tool has open API access to a live sportsbook's actual prices; compare these signals to the real line in your own sportsbook app before betting.
Data sources
FAQ
Why does a stat say "not available"? Because no real source for it exists yet, and this site doesn't guess. Route participation and live player-prop odds are two examples right now.
How current is the data? Each page that pulls live data shows when it was last updated. Season stats and news refresh on request; projections, lines, and weather are pulled weekly.
Is this affiliated with the NFL, FanDuel, or any sportsbook? No. Team names, logos, and player likenesses are used for identification and commentary only.
How do I cancel Membership? Cancel anytime from the confirmation email Stripe sent when you subscribed (it includes a "manage subscription" link), or email us at the address below and we'll cancel it for you. You keep full access through the end of the period you already paid for — no partial-month refunds.
Terms of Service
By using The Spread, you agree to the following. This section is plain-language, not a substitute for legal advice, and applies alongside the disclaimers above.
- Eligibility. You must be 18 or older to use this site or hold a Membership.
- Not gambling or investment advice. Projections, rankings, tiers, and lineup suggestions are informational only. DFS contests and sports betting involve real financial risk, and you are solely responsible for any entries, wagers, or decisions you make on FanDuel, DraftKings, or any other platform. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, contact the National Council on Problem Gambling at 1-800-522-4700.
- No guarantee of accuracy. Data is sourced from the providers listed under "Data sources" and is provided "as is," without warranty. We label estimated data as estimated, but nothing on this site is guaranteed to be complete, current, or error-free.
- Membership billing. Membership is $9.99/month, billed on a recurring basis through Stripe until you cancel. Canceling stops future billing; it does not refund the current billing period.
- Free tier. The free tier (limited weekly DFS lineup builds and top-12 rankings per position) and the 3-day full-access trial for new visitors may be changed, limited, or discontinued at any time.
- Changes to the service. Features, pricing, and these terms may change; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
- Limitation of liability. The Spread and its operator are not liable for any losses — financial or otherwise — arising from your use of this site or decisions made using its data.
Privacy Policy
We collect the minimum needed to run the site:
- Your account identity (via your Claude sign-in) — used only to check your Membership/trial status, enforce free-tier limits, and save data you personally enter (like your Rankings or Tier Board) so it's there next time you visit.
- Usage data — your trial start date and weekly DFS-build count, so free-tier limits work correctly.
- Payment information is never seen or stored by us. Membership payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.
We don't sell or share your data with third parties, and we don't run ads or third-party trackers. To ask what data we hold about you or to request it be deleted, email us at the address below.
Projections
Weekly fantasy projections for every player, in PPR, 0.5 PPR or non-PPR. For weeks already played, the real result sits next to the projection. The matchup chip shows how soft or tough that week's opponent has been against the player's position β green is a good matchup, red is a tough one. Click any player's name for their week-by-week breakdown.
Defense vs Position
How many fantasy points (or yards / touchdowns) each defense has allowed per game to every player at a position. Green = soft defense, a good matchup for the offense. Red = tough defense, a bad matchup. Click a position header to sort by it.
Totals are for the whole position, not per player β e.g. every WR who played against that defense, summed per game. Rank 1 = toughest, 32 = softest. Early-season samples are small (one or two games per defense), so treat these as directional until more weeks are in.
Projection Scoreboard
How accurate were the projections? Every player who was projected and played is compared here β the average miss, whether projections run high or low, the biggest beats and the biggest busts. Most sites never show you this. Click any dot or name for that player's full breakdown.
Dots above the dashed line scored more than projected; dots below scored less.
Start/Sit Scorer
Pick two to four players and get a call with the reasoning attached. Every input is pulled from real data: the week's projection, how soft or tough the opposing defense has been against that position, whether the player has been beating his projection, and how much work he's getting. Drag the weights to match how you play.
Projection: scored against a typical range for the position. Matchup: the opponent's rank against the position (1 = toughest, 32 = softest). Form: points per game above or below projection so far (Β±30% spans the bar). Usage: touches per game for RBs, targets per game for WRs and TEs, passing yards per game for QBs. Any factor with no data yet β a bye week, or no games played β is skipped and the score is re-weighted over the rest.
Tier Board
Offense only β QB/RB/WR/TE. Pick a board below: Overall is one mixed ranking; QB/RB/WR/TE are separate, independently-saved tier lists for that position alone, the way most fantasy sites actually publish rankings. Drag players into tiers β drag them back to Unranked, or click β, to remove them. Click a name for their full breakdown, or π for a note. Each chip's small badge is that game's real weather and Vegas total β hover it for the full line, and shows next week's PPR / 0.5 PPR / Standard projection, in that order. "Sync to Overall" rebuilds the Overall board from your QB/RB/WR/TE boards, ordered strictly by PPR points within each tier. "Send to Rankings" does the same merge and copies it onto the Rankings tab for the upcoming week, as numbered tiers (S=1 β¦ D=5) with real PPR/Half/Standard points attached. "Graphic" saves the current board as a wide shareable image; "Story" saves its S and A tiers as a vertical 1080Γ1920 card sized for TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube Shorts β on the Claude app it opens your device's own share sheet, so you can send it straight to those apps.

Floor / Ceiling Board
Every player in your DFS pool who has been matched to real season data gets a statistical floor and ceiling, not just a single projected number. Floor is a bad-week estimate; ceiling is a big-week estimate. The gap between them comes from how volatile that position typically is, blended with how volatile this specific player has actually been over the games he's played — a player with only a couple of games gets mostly the position's typical spread, and it narrows toward his own real pattern as more games come in. Use the safe-floor plays for cash games and double-ups; use the high-ceiling plays when you're building a tournament lineup and want a real chance at a huge score, even if it sometimes busts.
Trade Analyzer
Build both sides of a trade and get a grade. Each player's trade value starts with their real rest-of-season projection (through Week 18), then gets a modest adjustment for how soft or tough their remaining schedule is and a discount for any current injury designation — the same data used everywhere else on the site, not a separate guess.
You Give
You Receive
This is a research starting point, not a verdict — it doesn't know your league's roster needs, bye weeks you're trying to cover, or how the other manager values things. Always weigh it against your own team context.
